Time: 16:30 – 18:00

An open lecture will be organised on April 26th 2022, in the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair project (OwnEU) at the Institute of European Studies. Our guest lecturer for the event will be Ms. Ruzica Gelo, former member of the Croatian Negotiation team and international expert on EU accession and the Western Balkans. She has extensive experience on the European integration process of Albania and has been assisting Albanian institutions in their membership path.

The lecture will be composed by two parts. In the first session, Ms. Gelo will present an account of the Croatian experience with EU accession negotiations, explaining main challenges encountered, lessons learnt and impact that EU membership had for the country. In the second part, the focus will be negotiating chapter 22, Regional Policy, which is an important part of the process and affects the Albanian path towards membership. Participants will be able to ask questions and join the discussion in the last part of the event.
